Joshua Ryan is a film composer based out out of Los Angeles, California and Queenstown, New Zealand. Having moved to Los Angeles after graduating with honors from Otago University majoring in piano performance and composition, Josh continued to pursue music at a professional level. After working as a composer’s assistant for renowned music studio Human based in Santa Monica, Josh went on to pursue Trailer music and musical production at Safari Riot, learning skills from the mega-talented founders, Grayson Sanders and Jerry Yeh.

Josh has since gone on to work on his own personal projects and refine his sound in a musical hybrid of production/classical composition. In 2019, Josh teamed up with his close friend and mentor film composer Evan Duffy to start an artist duo to co-create epic trailer music employing their film composition and production skills. SAYSH was born and soon after was signed to sync label THINK MUSIC, a music licensing company based in California.

Josh and Evan now work with a vast range of artists which have allowed them to land their music in major studios such as Netflix, MTV, The CW and  more. They currently write out of their Los angeles based studio where they are also collaborating on future projects in relation to Film, TV and Broadway.
